Help & safety
Staying safe
Meet in a public safe spot
Always meet in a busy public place — a shopping centre, a police station or a fuel station. In a chat, tap the handshake button to see suggested public spots near you.
Keep chat in-app
Never move conversations to WhatsApp or personal numbers. Naartjie's in-app chat keeps your number private.
Check the Ripeness badge
Ripeness shows how someone has traded on Naartjie. It goes up with good ratings, finished trades, a confirmed area and time on Naartjie. Everyone starts as New neighbour. We don't publish the exact formula.
Is it free to post?
Yes. Posting a listing is free.
Naartjie is run by a small team. We review reports within 2 working days. Working days exclude weekends and public holidays in South Africa and in Korea, where our team is based.
